Ignatieff in Montreal

Junaid, Salman and I had the chance to see Michael Ignatieff talk about "Canada in the world: the challenges ahead" at the Mont Royal Centre in Montreal yesterday. This was my first exposure to the flesh and blood Ignatieff, and well, he's all that they say he is: articulate, charming and good looking, in an academic way. Just the kind of stuff public figures should be made of.

His was a feel-good politician's speech with an added dose of honesty-laden reality checks and a call for Canadians to own up to their "political truths". Well-said, Ignatieff, and a clever job dodging the question on the prospect of being future prime minister. That art will come in useful in the journey to Sussex Drive.
