Game theory and the 21st century

As a supposed philosophy enthusiast, I found suggestive this very preliminary discussion of the Israel-Hezbollah war through the lens of game theory and the prisoner's dilemma. The writer of the article doesn't really attempt any kind of significant reinterpretation of the conflict and its solution in game theory terms, but it would be interesting if someone (Russell Hardin perhaps?) did some work imagining post-Cold War geopolitical scenarios in those terms.

For now, I'm trying to work through Hardin's paper on "Civil Liberties in the Era of Mass Terrorism," along with about ten other books and numerous papers on multiple topics, all at the same time. The former is only tangentially related to my summer research work I suppose, but I'm sure I can justify billing for it.
