More than a thousand words

I appreciate a good photograph when I see one.

This year, Canadian photographer Finbarr O'Reilly has won the World Press Photo of the Year Award, for his portrayal of a mother and child in disaster stricken Niger.

See his photo and those of other finalists of the World Press Photo Award here. I especially liked the Hurrican Katrina shot and the one with coffins of the Srebrenica massacre victims. The bullfighter picture is good too.
